NCAA Football Preview – Western Kentucky Hilltoppers @ Indiana Hoosiers

With the NFL kicking off last week and two weeks of College Football action in the books, American Football in America is well and truly underway. The strong schedule continues this week as week three of the NCAA Football presents some really competitive match-ups. The second game of the evening take us to Blooming in Indiana as the Indiana Hoosiers play hosts in Bloomington. They face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as both teams put their 2-0 record on the line.

We will be backing the Western Kentucky Hoosiers to clear the +2 line that is on offer at. You can Treble the Odds on this bet with 888 Sport for a potential £57 return. Click here or the banner below to sign up.

The Western Kentucky Hoosiers have raced to a quick 2-0 start after two impressive victories against formidable programs in Vanderbilt and Louisiana Tech. Dual threat Quarterback Brandon Doughty has been the orchestrator of the success thus far, throwing 650 yards in two games and completing a massive 69% of his passes. He also has two touchdowns and no interceptions, adding to his streak of 16 straight games with a touchdown pass. He has managed to use his running credentials well and has really made his skill players look great. The Hilltoppers have allowed an average of 25 points and 482 yards.

Just like their opponents, the Indiana Hoosiers have earned two victories to start the season, narrowly avoiding defeat in a 48-47 win in week one against Southern Illinois. They then bounced back with a 36-22 victory in week two against Florida International. Their two wins both came at home and they will be keen to continue their perfect home record before going on a two week hiatus from home fixtures. Nate Sudfield is performing well under center with 583 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on the season thus far, adding to his six touchdown passes in his last four games. Their running offence has been great, with a 225 yard average per game. Jordan Howard has led the charge with 304 yards and three touchdowns. Their defence has allowed an average of 532 yards and 34 points per game.

This is one of those games which doesn’t necessarily receive the coverage it should be, because this is going to be a fantastic tilt. This game represents the excitement of College Football because we have two big offences who are putting up big numbers across their skill players and two teams who aren’t playing shutdown defence. The battle here will be between which lax defence can perform better. Indiana have one of the best runners in the country, but I fear for them in this game. They’ve had two wins against somewhat overmatched teams who they should be winning strongly against, but winning by a single point against Southern Illinois is worrying. The Hilltoppers have two wins against two better teams, and despite the two point victory in week one, they really found their rhythm in week two. The Hilltoppers are being incredibly overlooked and I think the Hoosiers will be in for a shock. I see Brandon Doughty taking control of this motivated Western Kentucky team and leading them to an underdog victory on the road in a high scoring affair. Getting a point and a half advantage on the Hilltoppers is a gift I’ll be taking all day long.
