Wenger Finally Gets One Over Mourinho

Wenger Finally Gets One Over Mourinho

Arsenal 1 – 0 Chelsea – Match Highlights

Arsene Wenger had been waiting for this moment for many seasons.  Mourinho has managed Real Madrid and Inter Milan during that time, and even after he returned to the Premier league two seasons ago, Wenger still couldn’t break his duck and remained winless against Mourinho in 13 matches until yesterday. The feud continued after the game as Wenger snubbed two occasions to shake the Chelsea managers hand, with Mourinho reflecting on the game as an example of Arsenal abandoning their philosophy.

The game was hardly scintillating, but there were sparks throughout where the tempo and intensity seemed to increase. Chelsea didn’t look threatening with Remy or Falcao leading the line, with the former being offside for most of the first half. Arsenal on the other hand defended stoutly and most of their threatening play came through the talented midfield, including a well taken goal by Oxlade-Chamberlain. Many have backed Arsenal to be the realistic challengers to Chelsea’s title, and on the back of this resilient display, you can see why. Match highlights below.
