NFL playoffs – Patriots pass tough test

NFL Playoffs – Patriots pass tough test.

Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots

This was an amazing match to watch. Joe Flacco and Tom Brady going head to head in throwing touchdowns. The Ravens’s defense was near impeccable in stopping the Patriots running game, which left Tom Brady with a lot of work to do. The Ravens were leading or drawing at every point early in the game with Brady and the Patriots playing catchup right until the end. This included the moment when Brady threw an interception to give Flacco and the Ravens possession which resulted in a touchdown on the resulting play. The Patriots showed some great resilience to limit the Ravens to a field goal attempt near the end of the game and when they regained possession, Brady threw a touchdown to take the lead. The Ravens could have got another touchdown to win, but Flacco went all out with a hail-mary pass with two minutes left to play which resulted in an interception and effectively ended the game. Amidst the mayhem and endless touchdowns, there was also some controversy surrounding what could be deemed ‘dirty tactics’ from the Patriots, but the NFL deemed the play legitimate. The Patriots ran out 35-31 winners, but the Ravens really unsettled them and on another day with a different final play, they could have won.

Play of the game: Brady and Flacco both had worthy TD passes, but the quirky play which saw wide receiver Julian Edelman (former college quarterback), throw his first ever NFL touchdown.
