Brady Beats Manning in Quarterback Showdown

Brady Beats Manning in Quarterback Showdown

The meeting between these two NFL titans had become one of the most eagerly anticipated match-ups of the season. Both Brady and Manning had been on fire going into the game. The Broncos had recorded two 30+ scores and 40+ scores against their opposition in the last four matches. The Patriots were equally impressive, totalling 51 points against the Bears and 30+, 40+ in two of their other recent match-ups. The stage was set for two of the NFL’s greatest all-time Quarterbacks to go head to head in a game that would deliver touchdowns and talking points galore, it didn’t disappoint.

Belichick and Brady get better of Manning…again

Manning had lost 11 of 16 meetings against the Patriots coach Belichick, and he extended that to 12 in 17. Manning has just claimed the most NFL career touchdowns ever surpassing Bret Favre who is now retired, and looks to make the record his own for a long time. Although Brady may never touch Manning’s record, he was simply better last night. Manning threw for 400 yards, but Brady threw for four touchdowns and as Belichick aptly stated “We’re not playing fantasy football here,” Belichick said, “we’re trying to win.”

Game Highlights

This was Brady’s 200th game as a starter, in which he has now won 155, the most for any quarterback with that number of starts. Yesterday he threw four touchdowns and helped the team rack up 43 points, the most points the Bronco’s have conceded this year by a considerable margin. Not all the applause can be handed to Brady. Rob Gronkowski, Shane Vereen and Brandon LaFell caught touchdown passes for New England and the link up between Brady and Gronkowski is really starting to click into gear. It was an unfortunate night for Manning whose two interceptions eventually led to touchdowns. It’s by no means over for Manning and the Broncos, but they will have to learn to rise to the big occasion just as Brady did last night.
